Overview
An alumni association represents all of Yale's 35 varsity
sports. The association consists of former athletes, alumni, parents,
and friends but membership is open to anyone interested in contributing
or getting involved with Yale athletics.
Mission
The
purpose of each association is to provide alumni and friends of Yale athletics
information about Yale teams as well as creating a support network for
current student athletes. Through the offering of career networking and
job placement, hosting of special events including receptions, alumni/alumnae
games, golf outings, and the raising of money to support Yale Athletics,
Associations enhance the experience of current Yale student athletes while
establishing a strong connection between Yale athletics and the alumni
community.
Structure
Each association
has a President and Board who, along with the Yale athletic staff, direct
all the association activities. Any inquiries about a particular sport
can be directed to the association president or by calling (203)432-1434
How to make a contribution

Impact
of Giving
Associations supplement the Department
budget and help cover the cost of expenses in the areas of recruiting,
out-of-region travel, prospect visits, equipment, communications, and
other annual team expenses. These contributions provide our coaches with
the resources necessary to attract the best and the brightest to come
to Yale. All association contributions are considered gifts to Yale. All
expenditures of associations are governed by departmental policy for compliance
with Yale, Ivy League, and NCAA requirements.
Ways
of Giving
Yale is supported by alumni, parents, and friends in many ways - through unrestricted annual giving; capital gifts in support of priorities such as student aid, faculty research, and facilities; special reunion contributions; planned gifts; and grants and awards from corporations and foundations. However you choose to support Yale - and at whatever level - your generosity is both essential and truly appreciated. Every gift counts.
