Alberts, a three-time first team All-Ivy selection, is one of the most dynamic players in the Northeast. He needs only four assists to become Yale's all-time leader, and his 51 career points are the fifth most in school history. Last year, Alberts led the Ivy League in assists, tied for ninth in points and earned second team All New England honors. In addition, he was named the Offensive Most Valuable Player of the Brown Tournament. Alberts missed all of the 2001 season due to mononucleosis. In his sophomore year Alberts earned first team All-Ivy honors for the second year in a row. As a freshman, Alberts was the first Yale player to be named Ivy League Rookie of the Year. His 21 overall points were the most ever scored by a freshman in Yale history. In the summer of 2001 his club team, Busch from St. Louis, won the under-20 national championship. He also has played on the national B team. A graduate of Whitfield High School, Alberts was a four-time all-conference selection, a three-time all-district and all-state selection and set the all-metro career scoring record as a junior.
