LEIPZIG, Germany--The Yale women's basketball team played its final game in Germany on Monday night. Their opponent, BBV Leipzig was the most talented team the Bulldogs faced on the trip, but Yale outscored Leipzig 24-13 in the fourth quarter to secure an 85-76 victory and conclude the trip with a 3-0 record.
The Bulldogs trailed 21-20 after the first quarter, but rallied to take a 46-44 halftime lead. Leipzig led 63-61 after three, but Yale's defense tightened in the final period and the Bulldogs pulled away for the victory.
Melissa Colborne had 26 points and nine rebounds in the game. Jamie Van Horne added 15 points and five boards. Stephanie Marciano had five points to go along with eight rebounds, four assists and five steals. Sara McCollum tallied nine rebounds. As a team, the Bulldogs grabbed 51 boards in the game.
Yale has two days remaining in Berlin before returning home on Thursday.
