Katharine Pitt Named All-American

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - At the conclusion of the NCAA National Championships, freshman Katharine Pitt had performed well enough to earn a spot on the second team All-America squad for women's foil. The NCAA Championships were held at Penn. State on March 21-22nd and they assembled all the best fencers from schools throughout the country. Pitt finished eighth among all foilists to earn her spot on the All-America team.

Pitt qualified for the NCAA Championship based on her performance throughout the season and her results from the Regional Championship, where she finished fifth overall. At the NCAA Championships, Pitt compiled a 15-9 record for a .625 winning percentage. Pitt scored 87 touches and received 80 touches to earn an indicator of positive seven. The winner of the competition was Doris Willette of Penn State.
