NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale Softball team will host a skills clinic on June 27 and 28 at Dewitt Family Field. The clinic, for children ages eight to 12 years old, will run from 9 a.m to 11:30 a.m. on both days. The first day features infield and outfield instruction, while the second day focuses on hitting and base running. The cost is $75 for both sessions or $45 for one session. The skills clinic is a chance for a young athlete to get a variety of basic fundamental training and hands on instruction from college softball players. The participants be divided into two groups to receive the maximum amount of attention. Each group will be given the basic fundamentals of each position and run through a series of drills specific to that position. Learning the basics is a key part of the success of making the game fun and challenging.
